Technical Pre-Sales Cloud Engineer
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the sales team to:
- Develop a direct relationship and develop new opportunities with new customers.
- Ensure that assigned sales goals are achieved or exceeded.
- Align and prioritize efforts based on company’s initiatives to maximize revenue and customer satisfaction.
- Build deep relationships, anticipate, and address needs, develop and manage the opportunity pipeline (integrating into the global opportunity pipeline), and facilitate proposals and RFPs
- Develop strategies for improvement, development and customization of products and services to serve clients.
- A Winning spirit and positive attitude throughout the sales cycle, identify the Challenges and work through them to Success.
- Report key information in a timely manner and bring visibility to the company with accurate customer needs.
- Create awareness and demand for Company’s solutions through networking.
- Provide insights into market’s and stay up to date on customer, competitor, and other insights to advise strategies.
- Travel to perform pre-sales activities, presentations and attend trade shows is expected.
- Effectively and appropriately engage sales resources – technical pre-sales, product management, project management, partners, and coordinate internal and external participation in tactical initiatives.
- Maintain and develop knowledge of product and service portfolio.
- Full awareness for all company's products roadmap, and evolution in alignment with different departments within the company and current/future services in the telecom and ICT sectors.
- Ensure alignment of internal guidelines and compliance.
- Preparing and finalizing RFI, RFP and RFQ for all tenders
- Responsible for evaluating, planning, and providing necessary technical solutions to accommodate clients demands and requirements.
- Ensuring solution designs are up-to-date and as per industry best practices in alignment with the strategy, product and R&D departments.
- Prepare, Evaluate and approve the SOW for each new project.
- Participate in trials of new technologies and identifying the technology which achieves and meet client’s requirements.
- Manage POCs and product evaluations for all new products and services.
Cloud Eng. requirements - essential - but not a must:
- Linux. Should have a strong understanding of the Linux operating system, which companies frequently use for cloud development. Should understand the architecture, maintenance and administration of Linux servers.
- Database skills. Should have cloud database management skills and knowledge of MySQL and Hadoop.
- Programming. Should have strong general programming skills, along with knowledge of programming languages such as SQL, Java, Python, Ruby, Golang, PHP and .NET.
- Networking. Should understand virtual networks and general network management functions.
- DevOps. Should have a hands-on understanding of DevOps practices . Amazon Web Services (AWS) DevOps in particular.
- Containerization. Should have proficiency of containerization tools and understand.
- Virtualization. Should have the knowledge to deploy and run application software on virtual machines.
- Understanding of cloud providers. As technical cloud features and engineering practices can vary between different service providers, understanding what each offers.
- Security and recovery. Cloud security is a growing priority among providers and knowledge of cybersecurity in the context of the cloud is important.
- Web services and application programming interfaces (APIs). Should have knowledge of open standards, such as XML (Extensible Markup Language), SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol), WSDL (Web Services Description Language) and UDDI (Universal Description, Discovery and Integration), and an understanding of how APIs are engineered.
