Product Manager, Voice, London

 
The company is looking for a product manager to drive the evolution of its connectivity and SIP products with carriers and IP networks.
 
This role owns :
  • Core SIP application used by the Voice API and other services
  • TDM-IP conversion
  • Media conversion
  • Future direct peering offerings to third-party cloud services
  • The alignment of the PSTN & IP connectivity with product and go-to-market plans
  • The candidate might be in a technical product management or architecture role right now, or could be an experienced developer or network engineer who has taken on product management responsibilities and is looking to make a career change.
  • The candidate should be able to demonstrate commercial experience and ability to effectively collaborate with partner mgt teams to build and scale communications platforms.
  • This is a highly technical role which will require writing down the specifications of the services you own and interacting with counterparts at PSTN or IP connectivity providers.
  • The candidate will be responsible for the delivery and evolution of a subset of the connectivity services: ultimately have a major stake in the commercial success of all other products.
 
Responsibilities:
 
  • Formulate the strategy, concepts, product requirements and use cases for connectivity services
  • Actively collaborate with Carrier Relations, Engineering and Operations to design and implement the best solution to achieve business goals.
  • Proactively identify and manage dependencies with other product teams
  • Contribute to the selection of partners required to deliver some of the Connectivity Services
  • Integrate customer feedback and performance metrics continuously into plans
  • Maintain current knowledge of competitive market and conduct assessment of new competitive offerings
 
Qualifications:
 
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in a relevant sector
  • Product Management experience highly desirable
  • Understanding of internet platforms and the specific challenges around designing and building them.
  • Familiar with technical, security, regulatory challenges & best practices running enterprise-scale services in the cloud globally
  • A track record driving change and influencing others both internally but also externally (eg partners, relevant industry etc)
  • Experience in delivering and executing on product vision in high technology organisations
  • Proven track record in bringing successful products / projects to fruition.
  • Self-Aware and confident in the unique blend of technology, market, business and relevant domain skills you bring to the table and how you want to develop as a leader
  • Experience shipping products or customer solutions in one or more of the following domains: 
  •           Large-scale VoIP applications (SIP etc)
  •           VoIP interconnect & IP Peering
  • IMS networks
  • Experience rolling up your sleeves at start-ups or able to demonstrate an entrepreneurial track record at a large corporation or in parallel to your work.
  • Highly analytical and at ease with influencing others through facts, insights and great presentation skills.
